Our Story
Created by internet personality Elle Jimenez, also known as Mermaid Elle, MERVANA™ was born from her passion for holistic wellness, ocean conservation, and a lifelong love for nature. A performer and environmental advocate, Elle’s work exists at the intersection of art, education, and sustainability, shaping a unique perspective on beauty rooted in intention and care.
In 2010, Elle was at the top of her Esthetics class at the Universal Spa Training Academy in Downers Grove, Illinois, and went on to work in a variety of spas and beauty salons, gaining hands on experience in professional skincare, scalp care, and ingredient formulation. Over time, her work as both a performer and ocean conservationist deepened her awareness of how personal care products impact not only the body, but also waterways and marine ecosystems.
Frustrated by hair thinning, years of damage, and the lack of truly non toxic products on the market, Elle began questioning conventional beauty. Many formulas promised results while relying on harsh or unnecessary ingredients, compromising long term scalp health and contributing to environmental harm. Determined to find a better way, she began formulating her own botanical blends at home, guided by traditional plant wisdom, ingredient transparency, and a scalp first, slow beauty philosophy.
After experiencing noticeable improvements and sharing her blends with close friends and family, Elle realized she was not alone in her search for something real, clean, effective, and aligned with deeper values.
What began as a personal journey of healing evolved into MERVANA™, a handcrafted line of clean, sustainable beauty created to restore balance, nurture the scalp, and celebrate the natural strength and radiance within us all, inspired by mermaids and a deep connection with nature. Thoughtfully made in small batches using plant based ingredients from land and sea, each formula reflects a commitment to quality, freshness, and mindful craftsmanship.
